The training of the foreign citizens at pedagogical university began with 1995/1996 ed.y. Also is carried out in frameworks per-high school and high school preparation (head by foreign branch and preparatory branch for the foreign citizens L.R.Bikteeva; methodists I.V.Tatarkina, N.G.Samarina).

The per- high-school's training (duration from one up to two semester) is carried out on preparatory branch and provides study of rates: "a Practical rate of Russian", "Phonetics. Intonation. A pronunciation", "Speech practice", "Literature", "Physics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Computer science", "Plotting" and others.

The Training on directions is carried out in special groups for the foreigners. With the purposes of increase of a level of preparation of the foreign citizens the methodical grants at the basic rates, special rates and rates at a choice are developed.

In August, 1999 the contract about registration NSPU in Representation the Ministry of Foreign Businesses of Russia in Nizhni Novgorod was made, on which the registration of the documents and reception of the visas to the Russian citizens (workers NSPU), having the service passport leaving abroad in service business trips is provided.

In March, 2000 the Centre of testing on Russian of the citizens of foreign countries with the purposes of realization certified of standardizional testing is open within the framework of the Russian state system of testing and the contract about organization and realization of testing of the citizens of foreign countries on Russian with the Head centre of testing (Moscow). Since April, 2000 the foreign branch NSPU is included into State system of testing of the citizens of foreign countries on Russian.

Since May, 2000 foreign branch and philological faculty ТSPU have entered the Russian society of the teachers of Russian and literature (RSTRL) with the purpose of development of the newest educational technologies in the field of teaching languages, including their methodical maintenance, and activization of work on support of Russian and culture in the countries of near and distant foreign countries.
