New chance to begin professional career

Our history

The Faculty of practical psychology is open at NSPU in 1989 according to the decision of Ministry of education of Russian Federation № 828/II-KK from 21.11.1989 years and prepares the psychologists on the basis of maximum education.

The Initial nine-monthly training since 1995 is replaced by the biennial form of preparation (order of Ministry of education of Russian Federation № 660/13-25 from 07.07.1995) according to the educational program on a speciality "020400-psychology" and educational plan including 3300 hours of psychological disciplines and rates of the theoretical and practical- guided plan. Finished faculty the diploma about maximum education of a state sample is given out.

Personnel structure

At faculty works: 23 teachers - from them 3 doctors of sciences, 12 candidates of sciences. The dean of faculty – The candidate of psychological sciences, senior lecturer Gaponova Sofiya Aleksandrovna.

Functions

• The Training of the students includes confrontation (day time) form of training within the first year and (confrontation- correspondence) - on the second year. After the first year of training and passage of psychological practice at schools and children gardens the students pass the state examination; after the second year - protect degree work;
• The Faculty is the centre of distribution of new psychological technologies both literature in city and area, providing inquiries not only students, but also already of working practical psychologists;

Achievement

On the basis of faculty is prepared about 600 qualified experts - psychologists with strong theoretical base and generated professional psychological thinking, to what the following data testify:

• the Graduates of faculty protect 17 candidate dissertations, 21 prepares for protection;
• the Graduates of faculty work on faculties and in scientific laboratories of the Moscow state university a name M.V.Lomonosova (MSU), Nizhniy Novgorod state pedagogical university (NSPU), Nizhniy Novgorod state university (NNSU), Nizhniy Novgorod state linguistic university (NSLU), Nizhniy Novgorod architectural - building university (NABU), Nizhniy Novgorod academy of water transport (NAWT), of Volgo-Vyatskkaya's academy of a state service (VVASS), Arzamas state pedagogical institute (ASPU) and etc;
• 32 graduates work the psychologists in organizations which are not concerning system of education: medical establishments, various structures "The ministry of internal businesses", including "Group of militia of the special purpose" and Management of fire-prevention safety; the industrial enterprises: joint-stock company "GAS", "NORSI" etc.; consulting psychological services of city;

On the basis of faculty the conferences are carried out:

• All-Union school a seminar "Economic questions of activity of a society of the psychologists USSR in conditions of transition to the market", March, 1991;
• a Regional conference within the framework of All-Union pedagogical readings "Practical psychology in national education", May, 1991;
• a Scientific practical conference "Urgent problems of practical psychology", October, 1993;
• Federal seminar - meeting "Preparation and improvement of professional skill of the practical psychologists in system of education", October, 1994;
• an Anniversary regional scientific practical conference "Urgent problems of psychology of education", November, 1999;

• a Social psychological training of interpersonal dialogue;
• a Social psychological training "Therapy of crisis situations";
