The chair of children's psychology was created in 1988. From the moment of creation of chair and till 1999 faculty headed the doctor of psychological sciences, professor deserved figure of a science of Russian Federation, Ulyana Vasilevna Ulenkova. She is widely known as the author of the original concept of study, training and education of children with a delay of mental development. U.V.Ulenkova supervises post-graduate study on age and pedagogical psychology, dissertational council.

Since 1999 head by chair is the candidate of psychological sciences, senior lecturer Elena Ermolaevna Dmitrieva.

The chair is considered general-university, but the educational process conducts basically faculty of psychology and pedagogics. the majority of the teachers of faculty - graduates FPE, U.V.Ulenkova's the schoolboys.

The chair carries out preparation of the students on a speciality "Psychology". The teachers work and on branch of preschool pedagogics and psychology.
