The overall performance of the modern teacher essentially depends on an opportunity of use in the professional activity of new information technologies, access to regional and trance-national information resources.
Training of the future teachers to the appropriate knowledge, development of skills of practical work on modern personal computers connected in local and global networks - one of the important directions of activity of general university faculty of computer Science and computer facilities (CSCF), open in the Nizhniy Novgorod state pedagogical university (NSPU) on September, 1 1985. In 1995 at chair CSCF the laboratory of new information technologies in training (NITT), equipped by 3 educational computer classes is formed.
Educational and methodical work
Overall performance of the modern teacher the Rates on computer science are read at all faculties NSPU, including the students of faculty of retraining of the experts with maximum education and rates of the practical psychologists and also with the pupils of the senior classes. At some faculties the training is carried out within the framework of an additional speciality and on a commercial basis.
For 15 years of work of chair its teachers put more 100 general and special rates, seminars and practical works on various areas of computer science. The wide experience of educational and methodical work is saved. According to the order of the ministry general and vocational training of Russia (N 23 from January 10 1997) the faculty conducts preparation on a speciality 030100 "computer sciences".
The licensing of educational activity of chair has given an opportunity to carry out training as within the framework of budget, and commercial activity. From 2000/2001 academic years at mathematical faculty the training on a commercial basis on a speciality "computer science" as basic is conducted. The teachers of chair together with the employees of laboratory NITT conduct computer rates on a commercial basis. For last two years at the expense of it more than 140 thousand roubles (without the VAT) were received. These means go on modernization of computer classes and purchase of new computer facilities.
Research work
The scientific subjects of faculty is connected to the analysis of the large information systems, creation of information models of processes of training, improvement of information service of education and scientific researches.
The members of chair support scientific communications with the Moscow state university name M.V.Lomonosov: by chair of discrete mathematics of faculty of the mechanics and mathematics (head- member the correspondent of the Russian Academy of sciences, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor O.B.Lupanov) and with the Nizhniy Novgorod state university name N.I.Lobachevsky, faculty of calculus Mathematics and cybernetics: by chair of mathematical cybernetics (head- doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor V.B.Alekseev), both faculty of mathematical logic and maximum algebra (head- doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor V.N.Shevchenko)
The chair was one of the organizers XII of the international conference "Problems of theoretical cybernetics", taking place in May 1999ã on base NSPU.
For last 5 years are published by the members of chair more 30 scientific works, including such central periodic editions, as "the Reports of the Russian academy of sciences", "Discrete mathematics and research of operations", "Discrete mathematics", "the Differential equations" and others. The members of chair supervise over course and degree works of the students on subjects connected to their scientific activity. For the specified period under the direction of the teachers of chair was protected 16 degree and 30 course works by the students IV and V of year of mathematical faculty, best of which are recommended to introduction.
The members of chair work under the grants of the Russian Fund of Federal Property and Federal Target Program "Integration". In 1998-99 in NSPU the project "Information networks in educational and professional activity" under the grant of Institute "an Open society" (IOS) of the Soros fund, program "Internet" (chief of the project - head by chair, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences M.A.Iordansky) was carried out.
According to this project the local network NSPU, included in itself except for computers of a local network of laboratory NITT computers located in administration, accounts department and dean's offices of a (line of faculties was extended. At the expense of means IOS was acquired communication server, through which the local network of the main case NSPU was connected on the allocated line to the Internet through direct service-provider. In laboratory NITT the Internet of a class on base of multimedia computers Pentium III was equipped.
The programs of training to work in local and global computer networks for the teachers, employees and students NSPU are developed. In the experimental plan the employment on work in the Internet with the schoolboys of the senior classes will be carried out also. The students, teachers and employees of university, past training to work in computer networks, participate in performance of the various telecommunication projects. The students of mathematical faculty execute the first degree works on development of Web-sites. The teachers and students of various faculties actively work with electronic mail. The students of humanitarian faculties actively use the Internet for search of materials necessary for performance of course works etc.
Computerization of psychological and pedagogical researches
The Introduction of information technologies in educational process of pedagogical high school can not be effective without the account of its psychological and pedagogical component. Therefore information of psychology and pedagogical preparation of the students is other not less important direction in activity of chair. The creative communications have developed for last years between chair CSCF both faculties of pedagogical and age psychology and chair of special psychology with the purpose of introduction of information technologies in psychological education. Within the framework of preparation on a speciality "the Practical psychologist in system of education" the large work on integration is begun on the basis of information technologies of educational rates "Mathematical bases of researches", "Experimental psychology", "Psychological diagnostics", "Pedagogical psychology" and "Correctional psychology". The first practical works on computer psychological diagnostics are put. Is prepared the educational and methodical grant on mathematical bases of researches for the psychologists and teachers. Given for computer processing it turn out by psychological testing of the students of various faculties and rates. The results of testing represent independent interest in psychological and pedagogical researches.
The chair CSCF together with the representatives of chairs of a psychological orientation (pedagogical and age psychology and also special psychology) develops the project of organization on the basis of laboratory NITT of chair CSCF of the informatiuonal methodical centre "Psychological computer technologies". The basic purpose of activity of the centre is the maintenance of state standard on disciplines of computer psychological diagnostics and psychological correction, creation and introduction in educational process and activity scientific post-graduate study of new computer techniques of psychological research and mathematical processing of the statistical data.
