The employees of chair

The chair of foreign languages is general- university chair ensuring training of the students to the English, German and French languages at seven faculties NSPU. With 1980 for 1995 faculty managed the doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Petrivnyaya Irina Voldemarovna. Since 1995 till the present time the chair is managed by the candidate of psychological sciences, senior lecturer, Shavenkov Aleksandr Aleksandrovich, working in NSPU with 1982.

Today on chair 5 candidates of sciences (from them 3 pedagogical, 1 philological and 1 psychological sciences) work. Now on faculty 16 regular teachers. 6 senior lecturers, 8 senior teachers and 2 assistants. The teachers with a candidate degree make 31% from all regular structure of chair

Except for the regular teachers on faculty 6 teachers in combination work. 7 teachers work on conditions of hourly payment.
On faculty work 1 senior laboratore assistant, laboratore assistant, engineer Technical systems of training.

Educational work

The chair provides training to foreign language as to a general educational subject at seven faculties NSPU. The collective of chair provides process of training to foreign language on day time and correspondence branches as to a general educational subject and professional language on rates of training in the Magistrates on specialities: philology, psychology, chemistry and rates for preparation of the post-graduate students and competitors to examination of a candidate minimum in foreign language.

Research work

For maintenance of the students by necessary educational materials the teachers of chair always created educational - the methodical grants and recommendations. Today this tradition proceeds.

In 1998 send methodical development for the students of not language pedagogical high school "the English language - intensively", NSPU, authors - composers the senior teachers of chair I.V.Belousova and A.D.Malokostova. These development are used on FPE.

the senior Lecturer I.V.Vashunina and senior teacher E.I.Ermakova in 1996. at the Nizhniy Novgorod humanitarian centre have published the manual "Deutsch" a practical rate of German language with elements of personality-guided education for not language high schools. In 2001г. in NSPU there was a new edition of this grant with additions and corrections. This grant is used for teaching German language at all faculties, where our teachers work.

In 2001 the young teachers of chair E.Y.Ilaltdinova and M.V.Zimina in the co-authorship with the English teacher - adviser Kler Makrori, working on our chair during 2000-2001 academic years, have made two manuals: "Methodical development on colloquial themes for the students of correspondence branch" and "the English language. Dialogues and texts. The methodical recommendations for colloquial themes for the students of day time branch of not language pedagogical high school".

The teachers of faculty develop the programs of training on "to Theoretical grammar", "Lexicology" and "to a Technique of training to foreign language" in English within the framework of the joint Russian-British project on preparation of the teachers of the English language in sheaf Pedagogical college - pedagogical university

On chair the methodical seminars devoted to the basic theme of chair under the name "Psychological pedagogical and scientific methodical problems of teaching of foreign language at the communicative approach to training" will be carried out. These seminars help faculty to study and to use in the scientific and educational work experience of the foreign colleagues. Frequently are used a video of record of lectures both seminars foreign methodists and teachers taken from the centre of the British Council.

In the given work the large help to chair is rendered by such organizations as: the British Council,the Gete Institute, international association of the teachers of the English language and regional association of the teachers of German and French languages at NSLU.

An overall Objective of all scientific work of chair is the theoretical substantiation and practical introduction in educational process of the important psychological-pedagogical aspects of training to foreign language promoting to personality-guided professional development of the future teacher.

Objects of research are educational process based on the communicative approach to training to foreign language and development of the person trained in it.

A subject of research is the development of psychological- pedagogical systems and educational complexes, appropriate to them allowing to decide an object in view and a task.

The basic hypothesis of chair's scientific work is that the development of the communicational approach through the integrational- intensive concept of training can and should promote improvement of knowledge of the students on foreign language, amplification of professional training of the future teacher and self-development of his person.

The results of scientific work of faculty are reflected in the scientific and methodical publications, in performances of the teachers of chair at scientific and practical conferences of a different level. The majority of scientific development of chair in the given time are at a stage of introduction in educational process. For last 5 years two teachers of chair have protected the candidate dissertations.

In 1996 has protected the dissertation on German philology, in that time the senior teacher of chair, I.V.Vashunina. In December 2000 the senior teacher of chair E.Y.Ilaltdinova successfully has protected the candidate dissertation on a history of the Russian pedagogics.

Two teachers of chair have begun to work above the doctor's dissertations. The senior lecturer V.V.hohlova works above doctor's dissertation on pedagogics, and senior lecturer I.V.Vashunina on psycholingvistics.

In 1996. at the Nizhniy Novgorod humanitarian centre there was a manual on a psychological substantiation of use of features of unconscious processes at training "Comprehension unconscious during education and training". The co-authors of this grant are the teachers and employees of our chair.

The сhair successfully works above the basic theme "Optimization of educational process at integrational and intensive concept of training to foreign language (communicative approach)", that is proved by quantities of the publications and practical development.

The work above the basic theme of chair is headed by the conducting teachers of faculty the senior lecturers: I.V.Vashunina, A.A.Shavenkov, T.N.Fajbishevich, V.V.hohlova, A.M.Lobzina, G.I.Statun, E.I.Ermakova, I.V.Belousova, A.D.Molokostova.

The psychological pedagogical aspects of the main theme develop by such teachers of chair as: the senior teacher E.I.Ermakova, senior lecturers G.I.Statun, A.ASHavenkov., T.N.Fajbyshevich, I.V.Vashunina.

There was a seal "a English-Russian (Russian-English) dictionary - directory on psychology of the person" (A.A.Shavenkov in the co-authorship with S.A.Gaponova).

The senior Lecturers G.I.Statun and V.V.hohlova have continued work on the experimental training program "bilingvistics training and moral education perschoolers and younger schoolboys".

The work of chair above improvement of quality of educational process on correspondence branch of university proceeds. Communications, contacts, cooperation

The chair constantly expands and strengthens communications with representation of the British Council in Nizhni Novgorod. The new ways of development of this cooperation are found. The scientific - methodical work on development of the educational plans and programs for correspondence branch on a speciality the teacher of the English language in cooperation with regional pedagogical colleges, department of education of the Nizhniy Novgorod area and British Council is begun. Six teachers of chair participate in the joint project of the British Council and Ministry of education of Russian Federation on the accelerated preparation of the teachers of the English language through pedagogical college (3 years day time branch) and NSPU (3 years of correspondence branch). The reception of complete maximum education will be provided with the graduates of this program on correspondence branch NSPU. Proceed to develop communications with the Gete institute.

The сhair supports communications with chairs of foreign languages of other high schools N.Novgorod's: the Nizhniy Novgorod institute of development of education, Architectural - building university, state university, NSPU, academy of a state service, Nizhniy Novgorod legal institute etc.

Cooperation with pedagogical colleges in N. Novgorod, Dzerginsk and Gorodec on preparation of the teachers of the English language in sheaf pedagogical college - pedagogical university Successfully develops. The uniform programs of training and monitoring system of knowledge of the students are developed.

At support of the Nizhniy Novgorod department of education, Nizhniy Novgorod institute of development of education and British Council in NSPU on our chair the seminars on improvement of professional skill of the teachers of the English language of pedagogical colleges of the Nizhniy Novgorod area will be carried out.
